Charles Manson was just a narcissistic psychopath

Charles Manson was convicted of using his “Manson Family” of mostly runaway young women & guys who lived on the fringes of society to murder people in 1969. The Manson Family made them feel welcome & loved, just like a cult does. The 2 notorious murders they were involved in were the Sharon Tate murders & the LaBianca murders.

The original claim was that Manson was doing this in order to start a race/class war & ignite the populace to rise up with him, but that’s far from the truth of why he did this. The fact is that he did this because he was upset at 2 people who wouldn’t help him with his budding music career, and instead of attacking them, he attacked the places where they had been as a veiled message to them that he thought only they would decode.

Charles Manson did prison time with a man named Phil Kaufman who was a musician & knew some connected people in the music business. They became friends while doing time. When they were released, Kaufman looked up Manson & spent time with the Manson Family, but left them well before the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders occurred.

Kaufman lived next door to the LaBiancas shortly before they were killed by the Manson Family presumably as a message to Kaufman, as Manson felt betrayed by him in not helping him with his music career in the manner expected.

The Sharon Tate murders were presumably also a message to record producer Terry Melcher as he lived at the Cielo Dr house shortly before Tate did. Manson met Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson & essentially took over his house for a while, and Dennis introduced him to Melcher. Melcher figured out pretty quickly that Manson was a marginally-talented flake & disconnected from him pretty quickly. As a result, Manson also felt betrayed by Melcher as well. Note: Terry Melcher was Doris Day’s son & was the producer for The Byrds & others, one of the hottest record producers in L.A. in the 60s.

So in actuality, Manson was just a narcissistic psychopath who was mad that he wasn’t able to find success in his music career due to his own faults, and instead blamed others for his failures & took those letdowns a large step further into murderous retribution for his perceived betrayals.
